What happens when someone rob the most money?
There is endless money in the bank. And people always are greedy and want to get it,even
in illegal ways. So some people choose
to rob a bank and even rob the most money that can be Top 10 Robberies in 21st centuries. But what happened after that? Were
they succeed? Were they catch? Did they have happy ending? And I choose three of them
to analyse.
Northern Bank in Belfast,Northern Ireland 2004,Number 8
On December 20th,2004,someone went to Northern Bank in Belfast,Northern Ireland and
robbed there. They were so smart that they hijacked some employees' families and asked
them to work as usual. They got £26.5 million and some other currencies and ran away
successfully(BBC,2005). A large amount of money, right? Why there were so much money?
There would be Christmas in three days, and people would buy a lot of things to celebrate it,
so the bank put so much money in safes. So it was a excellent day for them to rob and a
awful day for the bank. Because of it,it is the biggest bank robbery in Irish history. But
unluckily to those robber, the bank did something to make those money useless;they use a
new-look money(This way can be used in some small countries, but in countries like China
and America,it will not work.) So maybe what they did is a vain thing. The bank also called
police, but this robbery has not be solved yet.
Sumitomo bank in London,UK 2007,Number 2
With the development in science and technology, robbers began to rob the bank at home
with computers. Two hackers used a USB memory stick to install a software named
"key-logger" in a computer. They got the usernames and passwords of employees who had
used this computer. They tried to get $300 million with the information they got. But they
made a mistake so they got no money at last. But they did not only make one mistake, they
changed some cameras, even cut one. So some employees could find it and call police, and robbers were catch(Ando,2009). They were so unlucky that they saw no money because of
computer.
Also because of computer, they were so lucky to get so much money that this
robbery is one of famous robberies. And this rubbery also tell us do
not make little mistake when you do a big thing. The mistake may destroy
all that you planed.
the Banco Central in Fortaleza,Ceará,Brazil 2005,Number 6
People not only rob in some tough way,but also in some other more gentle way(still rude in
fact), such as digging a tunnel which will spend more time. On Brazil, there was a thing like
this. Robbers spent some months to dig it from a house someone rented. And on August
6th,they came to the bank vault and got more than $ 70 million which made it the biggest
robbery in Brazil. Because it was a weekend, employees found it on Monday. (It was also a
good day.)(BBC,2005 & FOXNEWS,2005).
And only some of them have been arrested when
there were 25 took part in this robbery. And only some of money have
been regained up to now. But the biggest proplem is that they should be
very careful to be not found that they are digging by others.
Conclution
After the robbery happened, the bank would often come up with some ways to reduce loss. (And in example 1,The bank even use some special way. In 3 examples, all the
bank call police for help.) And no people had happy ending from 3
examples. Some people were catch, and as for people that haven't been
catch, they have to hide all the time. There are some new
ways to rob like robbing with computer like example 2 though going
to bank with guns and something like that is still a common way. All
robbers usually planed a lot. If not, they can be caught easily and can
not rob so much money. So many robberies have not been solved.
And most of them will choose a good day just like they did in example1 and example 3. Some people will choose a day that some day
before a festival so there will be much money in the
bank. And some will choose a holiday so the police and employees
won't find it at once. We can see there was no huge robbery after 2009
(Jaro,2012).
